Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Biogeochemical processes in the land-ocean interface
The University of Agder (UiA) invites applications for a full-time fixed-term appointment for a period of three years as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Land-ocean interactions. The position will be located at NIVA, Region South, which is in the immediate vicinity of UiA’s campus in Grimstad.
The position will be associated with NIVA’s Strategic Institute Initiative “Land-Ocean Interactions in a changing climate” and ongoing research projects related to this topic. Coastal ecosystems and nearshore marine areas are among the most productive systems in the world, but the services they provide are adversely affected by a series of threats of which climate change and land use change are among the most important. Many coastal areas across the globe, including Norway, are in transition; experiencing changes in water quality, transparency and ecosystem function. Gaining basic knowledge on land-ocean interaction processes is crucial for identifying and disentangling the effects of human activities and climate change on coastal marine waters.
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will be part of an excellent group of scientists, PhD students and post-docs at NIVA and CCR, working on various aspects of land-ocean interactions and coastal ecology.
Application deadline is January 15. The preferred starting date for the position is 15 March 2018 or to be negotiated with the faculty.
